What is hosting?

When a website is built, files are generated and must be saved somewhere. A website host provides the server on which your website files live and are thereby accessible to the internet public. All websites require hosting. Example: (Wix, Squarespace, or GoDaddy)


What if I already have hosting?

If you already have hosting, we can build your website on your existing hosting. However, some hosts have limited abilities with regards to blogs and blogging software.


I already have a website, but it needs a Revamp.

If your website is incomplete, outdated, or in need of a make over, AV can develop a new design that will meet your current needs. If your website only needs minor changes, AV offer website maintenance reasonable pricing. We only work with the following platforms: Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, and GoDaddy.


Can I start with a small website and have it grow as my business grows?

If you would like to start small, but have intentions of growing your website as your business grows, we will design a website that is built for expansion. This way, as the website grows, the design style and site organization is nicely maintained and does not grow haphazardly.


How long will it take to make a website?

Naturally the time frame for your new website will depend on the type and functionality included. Some basic websites can be completed as quickly as one-two weeks. Larger, more complex websites can take up to three weeks.


How much does a website cost?

Pricing depends greatly on the scope of the project. Give us a call and tell us about your ideas. Once we have a general idea of what sort of website you want, we can give an estimate over the phone. In most cases, we offer reasonable rates. (The client must decide on what type of site is needed: blog, 1page cover site, 5 page tab site, or eCommerce. )

Domain Name + Website Connection


What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is the direct identification name that defines the administrative authority of your business or brand’s presence within the Internet. Domain names are used for your target audience and/or potential customers to specifically find your website.

(Example: http://www.thenameofyourbusines.com )


Do I need or have to have a Domain name?

Although a domain is essential, it is NOT mandatory. All hosting websites come with a sub domain name, but to make the business look more unified and more respected, the domain name is a nice added touch. You can annually lease or purchase your domain names at site like GoDaddy, Google, or directly from the hosting site when purchasing an monthly or annual hosting.


What is Domain Connection?

Domain connection is when you forward or point your domain name in the direction for it to appear on the internet as the hosing site created.

DESIGN QUESTIONS

What is the turnaround time on a mark-up design?

After an initial conversation about your business and design objectives, we will begin designing logo options for you. This process generally takes about 24-72 hrs. After the initial design concepts are made, the revision process can take additional time.  If more time is needed, we will reach out to the client for an extension on the quoted deadline.


When the project is finished, how will it be delivered to me?

We will provide you with a copy of your design in .PNG or .PDF format. If you should need an additional format (Example: .SVG or .EPS for embroidery,) please let us know.


Who owns the final design?

AV owns the exclusive rights to all projects created by OUR designers. We grant non exclusive rights for the client/customer for promotional use only. The given vector images after completion of the project are only to be used by the client/company only. If the client wishes pursue full ownership, they would have to retrieve a copy of release document with a signature and date from the designer (and pay an ownership fee.)(After release has been completed, AV still reserves the right to use design for our portfolio and promotional use to invite incoming clients.


I have a design, but it needs a Revamp.

If your design is outdated or no longer represents your business properly, AV will create that retains what is valuable from the existing design (if needed) while helping you achieve a new image for your brand.


What is necessary content for my design?

In most cases, one wants to be weary of including too much text.

Typical inclusions are:

1. List of services or products

2. Your specialization

3. Information about your history or mission

4. Contact and Social Media information

*Remember that it is always a good idea to research your competition and adapt features that you admire in their collateral.


Do I need professional photography for my design?

Professional photography is an enormous asset to any marketing campaign. However, if you have photos that are not poor quality, we may be able to enhance them so that they will work nicely in your brochure. It is important to remember that image is everything and people remember great visuals.

*If you have a service business, we can also assist you in the acquisition of affordable stock photography that will help you to professionally represent your business.


Can my design be printed?

AV does have the ability to print. Printing quantity is in bulk and vary based on the color, quantity, and size to determine cost.


Have an important DEADLINE?

If you have an important deadline, please make us aware of this deadline in advance so that AV can plan accordingly. We charge an urgency fee for anything under 24 hrs. Fee is determined based on length of the project. (Example: Creating a 30 page magazine layout in 48 hrs.)


What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My prices are honest, fair, and reasonable.


What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

24-72 hrs from the starting time a payment is received. (We aim for less than 72 hr or we an estimated turnaround time for your larger/multi-item projects. If an item is needed in less than 24 hours, an addition fee will be charged along with the service fee.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am trained and certified Adobe Graphic Artist from Clayton State University.


How did you get started doing this type of work?

I had interest in programming and web design which lead me to find something that I actually enjoy doing in my past time.


What types of customers have you worked with?

Public Figures, Influencers, Small businesses, causes, non profits, musicians, and entrepreneurs.


Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

My most fond project was learning to make a magazine from start to finish. Took me a week to master the concept and the rest was creativity.


What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find someone with experience who loves what they are doing. Just because a person knows how to do something doesn’t mean they enjoy it. You get more satisfaction out of doing something you love.


What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

A customer should have an idea on what they want before they come to a designer UNLESS they are giving the designer full privilege to create a concept based on basic information.
